A special meeting of the Fannin County Commissioners Court is scheduled for January 20, 2026, at 8:50 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Fannin County Courthouse in Bonham, Texas, and will also be accessible via teleconference.
The agenda includes establishing a quorum and hearing comments on several proposed changes to county regulations. These include modifications to the Fannin County Subdivision Regulations, such as increasing the minimum lot size for exceptions to platting requirements from more than five acres to more than ten acres. There is also a proposal to require a recorded easement dedication of a 30-foot right-of-way for any division of land, whether platted or unplatted.
Additional items on the agenda involve potential updates to subdivision design standards. This includes setting road width from curb to curb for concrete roads with curb and gutter at 30 feet for square curbs and 40 feet for rolled curbs. The court will also discuss moving forward with a Thoroughfare Plan for Fannin County.
Another proposed change would revise the county’s road naming policy so that only numerical road names are allowed.
The notice was signed by Newt Cunningham, Fannin County Judge, and filed by Jenny L. Garner, County Clerk.
