A regular meeting of the Fannin County Commissioners Court is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Fannin County Courthouse in Bonham, Texas, and will also be accessible via teleconference.
The agenda includes routine items such as establishing a quorum, invocation, pledges, introductions, and a public forum. Financial matters on the agenda include approval of bills by the County Auditor and review of reports from the Treasurer and Clerk for December 2025. The court will also consider budget amendments for July through December 2025.

The Sheriff’s Office seeks approval to enter into an agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the DHS ICE 287(g) program. There will be consideration of a grant application to Texoma Council of Governments for a vehicle for Constable Precinct 1.
Other items include potential action on a burn ban recommendation, courtroom enhancements at the Justice Center requiring additional funding beyond prior approvals, solicitation of bids for gas and oil contracts in 2026, application to the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program for fiscal year 2027, extension of Fannin County’s depository contract with Legend Bank, submission of a Structured Family Therapy Grant application through the Office of the Governor’s Criminal Justice Department, formation of an economic development committee related to Fannin County Lake projects, land severance requests in Precinct 1, changes to subdivision regulations including lot size increases and road width standards, adoption of numerical-only road names policy changes, acceptance of Christmas decoration donations valued around $60,000 from Bonham Chamber of Commerce, among others.
Open discussion topics cover county policies and ordinances; courthouse repairs; budget matters; roads; water issues; risk assessment; energy storage systems; fire marshal activities; and emergency medical services.
Executive sessions may occur under Texas Government Code sections addressing attorney consultation or personnel issues. Final comments by commissioners or judge will precede adjournment.

Recent data show that during the 2023-24 school year in Fannin County there was an increase in at-risk students by about 4.5%, totaling over two thousand students according to state education records (https://tea.texas.gov/). Demographic figures indicate white students were most numerous locally while Hispanic students made up nearly one-quarter of all enrolled children (https://tea.texas.gov/).
