The Fannin County Commissioners Court has released its schedule for meetings in 2025 and 2026. The court will meet on several dates throughout both years, with sessions planned twice a month in most months.
For 2025, meetings are set for October 14 and 28; November 10 (Monday) and 25; and December 9 and 22 (Monday). In 2026, the court will convene on January 6 and 20; February 3, 17, and 10; March 3, 17, and 31; April 14 and 28; May 12 and 26; June 9 and 23; July 7 and 21; August 4 and 18; September 1, 15, and 29; October 13 and 27; November 10 and 24; as well as December 8 and December 22.
These meetings come at a time when Fannin County schools have seen changes in student demographics. The number of at-risk students increased by about four-and-a-half percent during the last school year to reach a total of 2,247 students. This places Fannin County schools among the higher ranks statewide for at-risk student enrollment—specifically, they ranked as the 102nd highest in Texas during the same period.
Regarding ethnic composition in local schools during the past academic year, white students made up the largest group with 3,638 students or nearly two-thirds of the total enrollment. Hispanic students were the second-largest group with just over one-fourth of all students.
