55 percent of applicants to Austin College were admitted for fall 2018

At Austin College, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Sherman enrolled 1,299 students in fall 2018, including 1,280 in undergraduate and 19 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 6 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (49 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (20 percent).

The school admitted 55 percent of the 3,832 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 21 percent enrolled.
