The M.W. & Fair Miller Foundation recently presented Bonham Public Library with a $20,000 grant.
“The library will be using this donation for several things that we believe will be beneficial to the families in Bonham and the surrounding areas,” Bonham Public Library stated in a post on North Texas e-News. “Bonham Public Library's mission is to enrich and empower lives by providing services, programs and events that will help us fulfill our mission.”
North Texas e-News reports the library plans to use the grant for a variety of purposes including funding its summer reading program, buying VOX books and new mobile bookshelves, and creating a permanent Story Trail at Powder Creek Park.
“A Story Trail is a literacy and physical activity tool that engages the community in reading children’s books,” the North Texas e-News states. “They help to inspire kids and enrich their lives. This will help to inspire an interest in language and literacy while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for both children and adults.”
