Leonard ISD welcomed 827 students in 2021-22 school year

There were 827 students enrolled in Leonard ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 54.4% of them were boys, and 45.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 70% of the Leonard ISD total enrollment.

Leonard ISD roughly covers schools within Fannin County with its main office in Leonard.

Among the four schools in Leonard ISD, Leonard High School recorded the highest enrollment of 264 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
