Whitewright ISD Education: 788 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 788 students enrolled in Whitewright ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53% of them were boys, and 47% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 74.9% of the Whitewright ISD total enrollment.

Whitewright ISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County with its main office in Whitewright.

Among the three schools in Whitewright ISD, Whitewright Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 389 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
