There were 943 students enrolled in S. and S. CISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.1% of them were boys, and 49.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 74.3% of the S. and S. CISD total enrollment.

S. and S. CISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County with its main office in Sadler.

Among the three schools in S. and S. CISD, S&S Consolidated Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 331 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
