How many Hispanic students were enrolled in Walnut Bend ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 13 Hispanic students enrolled in Walnut Bend ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 7.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Walnut Bend ISD schools welcomed 54 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 24.1% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the district.

Walnut Bend ISD roughly covers schools within Cooke County and has a main office in Gainesville.

Walnut Bend Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 13 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
