Enrollment Analysis: Asian students comprised 2.5% of Van Alstyne ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 57 Asian students enrolled in Van Alstyne ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 29.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Van Alstyne ISD schools welcomed 2,285 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 2.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Van Alstyne ISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County and has a main office in Van Alstyne.

Among the four schools in Van Alstyne ISD schools, Bob and Lola Sanford Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 20 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
