There were nine African American students enrolled in Tom Bean ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 35.7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Tom Bean ISD schools welcomed 666 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 1.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Tom Bean ISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County and has a main office in Tom Bean.

Among the three schools in Tom Bean ISD schools, Tom Bean Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of five students.
