City of Gainesville issued the following announcement on Sept. 21.
Thank you all who came to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening of Fire Station 3 with us, while we remembered 9/11 and also honored fire department retirees.
This is a proud moment in our department's history. As Chief Twiner stated, this fire station belongs to our community, and we are just the key holders. We appreciate the support of Mayor Goldsworthy, City Council, City Manager Barry Sullivan, and all who made this modern fire station a reality for Gainesville.
