The Texas Water Development Board approved new funding to make improvements to the water system in Texas.

The funds will come in the form of an $830,000 loan that will be provided by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. The loan will be made to the Greater Texoma Utility Authority. The recipient will be using the loan funds to provide the ability to plan, construct, implement, and otherwise improve the water drinking system.

More specifically, the District is expected to replace nearly 2 miles of old water lines that are costing the District money in efficiency. With the improvements that will be made, it is expected that over $200,000 will be saved over the life of the loan in newfound efficiency.

In addition to providing more efficient water usage for residents and the District, the improvements will also ensure greater reliability in the system, which has been an issue in outdated lines.
