There were two American Indian students enrolled in Valley View ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 33.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Valley View ISD schools welcomed 920 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Valley View ISD roughly covers schools within Cooke County and has a main office in Valley View.

Among the three schools in Valley View ISD schools, Valley View High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of one student.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
