Whitewright ISD Education: 755 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 755 students enrolled in Whitewright ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 76.7% of the Whitewright ISD total enrollment.

Whitewright ISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County with its main office in Whitewright.

Among the three schools in Whitewright ISD, Whitewright Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 350 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
