Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 24.4% of Denison ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,189 Hispanic students enrolled in Denison ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 10.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Denison ISD schools welcomed 4,868 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 24.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Denison ISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County and has a main office in Denison.

Among the nine schools in Denison ISD schools, Denison High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 294 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
