Enrollment Analysis: Asian students comprised 0.6% of Denison ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 31 Asian students enrolled in Denison ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 24% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Denison ISD schools welcomed 4,868 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.6% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Denison ISD roughly covers schools within Grayson County and has a main office in Denison.

Among the nine schools in Denison ISD schools, Denison High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 15 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
